TSER’s Eli Erlick was featured in an LA Times article on California’s new trans* student rights bill: “Transgender students ‘just looking for their place in the world’"
It is important to note that the fight for “gay rights” has not been won. While people can marry and there is some public support, queer people, especially queer people of color, are still facing disproportionate amounts of violence, economic inequality, and victimization in schools.
We’re happy to announce that we’ve collaborated with our friends at the Trans Student Equality Resources to create this great infographic just in time for students going back to school.

It Gets Better Project
For our Layout Design and Static Image class at Emily Carr, we were asked to do a poster for a non-profit organization. I chose the It Gets Better Project which is an American, online-based support community for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning individuals. This poster was meant to inspire struggling LGBT teens to keep living and I hope it’ll bring a smile to whoever’s looking at it. I’m saying this from personal experience, life DOES get better :)
The actual poster incorporates a rivet, allowing the viewer to “spin” the world around.
we LOVE this! Thank you itsrokoportfolio for this awesome creation.

Time to d-d-d-drop some knowledge about LGBTQ+ terms!
Today’s term is trans: Someone whose gender identity differs from the one that was assigned to them at birth. Many transgender people identify as either man or woman, while others may see transgender as an umbrella term and also identify as gender nonconforming, nonbinary, genderfluid, genderqueer, etc.
The important thing: how we as transgender people choose to express our gender is up to us, as is our transition!
