Normally the first day of practice isn’t a big deal, but at Azusa High School, it was a groundbreaking moment as senior Pat Cordova-Goff, the state’s first transgender student-athlete, attended her first practice with the Aztecs softball
Congratulations to Pat and all trans* students in California who now can be their authentic selves in school.
“I tried out just for me; it wasn’t to change the world.”
Having people that supported me as I came out as bisexual really helped and made a difference in my life. It does get better. It was really hard but I made sure that I surrounded myself with people that I knew I could trust. I want to take this opportunity to spread that message that you should say thank you to every person that helped you and I love you to every person that you love because life is too short to be wasting any breaths and you never know how much time you have with that special person. It has gotten better, but I would have never made it by myself.— Ellie L. (Baltimore, MD)
