Don’t ever let anyone tell you who to be. When I came out to my family at 14 in rural Minnesota, I was taken to jail under instruction of my parents….I knew that the only way I would survive was to run away. I lived on the streets of Minneapolis for four years from 14 to 18. I never could see how I would make my way out. I am now 36, married to a wonderful man with a home, two dogs, and hopefully a baby on the way. Please believe me, there are angels all around us, and people really do care. It may not seem like it, and there are people watching out for you around every corner. It does get better!!—Clint S. (Savannah, GA)
