In coming out to my friends, I was able to stop worrying so much about what others thought and able to concentrate on myself and my aspirations. I wasn’t plagued with the emotional handicap of having to conceal my sexual orienation. It definitely wasn’t easy to come out of the closet, but when I did, it definitely got better for me.—Mark R.
